End of Multiplex-Bollywood strike
The two month long strike of Bollywood is finally over. Movie buffs can again look out for fresh releases . The long standing rift between United Producer Distributor Forum and Multiplex Association of India has finally come to halt.
“Cine goers can now look forward to entertainment galore,” said Preeti Shahani, senior VP, Indian Film Company.
“No compromise is possible unless there is a little climbdown from both sides. After a tug of war that went on for two months, we are now one big large industry once again,” said distributor and co-chairman of the Forum, Ramesh Sippy.
So, whats the deal?
A 50-42.5-37.5-30 revenue sharing arrangement has been agreed upon for the first four weeks. All super hits movies will be given revenue bonus. And now onwards, the producer and the distributor will decide where the film should be released.
